From Land to Wave: Éva’s Surf Shape Journey

Éva’s story is a perfect example of making the most out of life’s opportunities. Splitting her time between Budapest and Portugal, she took on surfing as her new passion and joined the Surf Shape Mentorship to build strength, endurance, and confidence on the waves. A key focus has been improving her push-ups, essential for mastering the pop-up and boosting her overall motivation. From Budapest to the Waves of Portugal: Éva’s Surf Shape Journey

Meet Éva, who decided to turn her frequent travels between Budapest and Portugal into the perfect opportunity to take up surfing and smash her fitness goals along the way.

Éva’s Story: A New Passion and a Fresh Challenge

A few months ago, Éva got her first taste of surfing in Portugal.

Between studies and work, she regularly travels back and forth from Budapest, so she thought, 

"Why not make the most of this and level up my surfing?"

Like any new surfer, Éva quickly realized that paddling, popping up on the board, and staying balanced on a wave require not just technique, but solid strength and endurance.

That’s when she joined my Surf Shape Mentorship Program a fitness plan specifically designed to build the strength, mobility, and endurance surfers need.

For Éva, one key focus became improving her push-up game. 

Why? 

Because the pop-up (the movement when you push yourself up onto the surfboard to catch a wave) is essentially a push-up in motion. 

The stronger and smoother her push-ups, the better and faster she’ll be at catching those dreamy waves in Portugal. 

But for Éva, this wasn’t just about surfing. 

She set a personal goal to improve both the quantity and quality of her push-ups, motivated by the challenge and the desire to feel stronger overall.

I invite all my clients to complete a full body assessment before beginning, and Éva’s assessment gave us a baseline to create a program truly built around her needs.

Her personalized program focused on building the strength especially in her upper body, flexibility, and control essential to improve her surfing performance.

Each movement was designed to optimize her pop-up speed and overall fluidity.

 

4 Weeks In: Small Steps, Big Wins

We’re now 4 weeks into Éva’s mentorship, and her progress has been incredible! Not only is her upper body strength improving, but she’s also noticing better control and fluidity during her pop-ups when she hits the water over long weekends with her surf instructor.
